INFRARED SCAN
Infrared technology is a fairly new means of investigating leaks, moisture levels and general water intrusion. An infrared camera uses the radation that is put off by an object to detect levels of temperature. Rodgers Architects uses this technology to find moisture within the building evelope. For example, if a small section of roofing insultation is wet, the camera will show a change in color in that area. It is possible to follow an active wall leak to its origin without having to cut drywall or ceiling finishes. Examples of output images are below:
